Drawing Arrows

The arrows in the Communigram show the communication flow of the organization. Since each task in the Communigram produces information (a deliverable), the arrows going from one task to another show the transmission of deliverables between tasks. By definition, the responsible of a task transmits the information created in the task to the responsibles of all following tasks. For this reason, the arrows in the Communigram always go from responsible to responsible.

The Cursor in Arrow Mode

Drawing arrows in the Communigram is simple. You add arrows simply by "connecting the dots", i.e. clicking on the line of one task and moving to another. You will note that the communication arrows are always drawn between two responsibles. This is intentional, since in Communigram, deliverables are always transferred from one responsible to another.

Note: When you draw arrows between tasks in which responsibles have not been defined, the arrows do not appear in the Communigram itself, but in a column on the right titled "Links". The links are nonetheless registered in the database. For this reason, when responsibles are defined later on, arrows may "suddenly" appear, since they were formerly in the "Links" column.

Display Content of Arrows and Remove Arrows

When the cursor is over an arrow, its color changes to black and you can open a contextual menu by right-clicking on it.

If you click on "Properties", you are taken to a window in which you can access all information concerning the deliverable contained in this arrow directly, including all information concerning following deliverables that need this deliverable as an input. Otherwise, you can choose "Delete Arrow" to remove this communication link permanently.
