How Constraints are Used

If you want to set dates "by hand", you cannot do this by simply changing the dates in the corresponding columns. Instead, you need to contrain the corresponding tasks to be scheduled at the date you would like them to.

In order to access constraints and make changes to them, open the detail window of Communigram (drag the bottom border of Communigram until you see the details) and click on the tab "Dates".

Setting A Task to Take Place Later

If you want to move over a specific task in time so it will take place later, the best way to do so is constrain it to "Start on or after" a certain date. To do so, simply click on the task to activate it, then choose the constraint type "Start on or after". To make the constraint effective, also choose a date you want this constraint to use (Primary Constraint Date).

Setting Milestones to Fixed Dates

If you want milestones to take place at certain dates, it is best to use the "Mandatory Finish" constraint. Simply choose "Mandatory Finish" as the Primary Constraint, and the date you want the milestone to take place as the Primary Constraint Date.
